Yesterday at approximately 7.30 A.M. a fire broke out in Stage 5 at Korda Studios, in Etyek, Hungary, damaging constructed sets and the sound stage. No filming was in progress at the time. A firefighter stationed at Korda Studios was joined by emergency respose units in extinguishing the flames, which were contained inside the soundstage. All persons were safely evacuated and no one was injured. Damages are currently being assessed, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

No other stages, backlots, or facilities were damaged in the fire, and the other five sound stages remain operational. Productions working on the lot continued filming on schedule.

Korda Studios will be opening a new sound stage, no. 7, later this year, which will help bridge capacity burdens until Stage 5 becomes operational again.

We’d like to offer our special thanks to the emergency response teams for their brave work, and to all friends and colleagues in Etyek and in the film industry who reached out to offer their support.

The grapes are a white local varietal called Királyleányka, which translates as "Princess". Wines from this grape are characterised by their fresh, crisp taste.
